Chrome’s New Mute Site Feature Is Super Cool! Don’t Miss It!

If you hate websites that automatically play a video each time you visit a page, you must try the new Mute site feature of Chrome.

This feature is available in version 64 or later of the browser. When you visit a site you can just right-click on the tab then choose Mute site. From then on, you'll never hear sound on that site again, until you choose to Unmute site.

Apparently, this feature has been available since mid-February, but I didn't remember to use it until now. Many of you might also have overlooked it. If you tend to work late at night, or just don't want to be bothered, this is a God-sent feature.

To update Chrome, click on the click on the More () button at the top right corner, then go to Help -> About Google Chrome. Here, the browser will show its current version and will automatically update itself if there's a new version available. You'll need to relaunch the browser for the update to take effect.
